Embraer Legacy 600
Embraer launched the Legacy 600 in 2000, a transformation of the ERJ-135 commercial airliner, highly regarded due to its reliability. They added seven-foot winglets to improve lift and reduce drag, and the fuel-transfer system was modified, resulting in an extremely high-performance aircraft. This spacious corporate jet features a true VIP cabin, larger than that of its Dassault and Bombardier rivals, which is configured in 3 separate seating areas to easily cater for up to 13 passengers in optimum comfort. The 600 also features the largest baggage compartment of any aircraft in its category, accessible from the main cabin, and is also certified for steep approaches, making it able to land at airfields that many other aircraft can't access. Providing great range and interior luxury, it is no surprise that the Legacy 600 is such a popular Large Business Jet as it provides an excellent service for medium-haul flights.

History
Embraer first announced the Legacy 600 at the Farnborough Airshow in 2000, initially designating it the Legacy 2000. The aircraft was developed as a business jet version of the proven ERJ 135 commercial airliner platform.
The first Legacy 600 flew a year later in 2001 and had reached the private jet market by 2002. The aircraft successfully adapted commercial aircraft reliability and performance for business aviation applications.
Based on the ERJ 135 platform, the Legacy 600 offered operators the benefits of airline-proven systems and maintenance networks. The aircraft featured a spacious cabin and intercontinental range capabilities that established it as a significant competitor in the large-cabin category.
The Legacy 600's success validated Embraer's strategy of adapting commercial aircraft for business use. Priced at $26 million, the aircraft filled an important gap in Embraer's business jet lineup and served as the foundation for the company's continued expansion in business aviation markets worldwide.
