Dassault Falcon 900EX
The Falcon 900EX entered service in 1996 as the latest upgrade to the original Falcon 900, following on from the Falcon 900B. Much like its predecessors, the 900EX was a tri-jet that belonged to the category of Super Large Jets, but it was designed to be a long-range version of the 900 and 900B. Dassault designed the 900EX with more modern avionics, upgraded engines and greater fuel capacity to provide it with a maximum range of over 5,000 miles. As with the whole Falcon 900 range, the 900EX offers an extremely comfortable and spacious cabin that can be partitioned into 3 separate sections. The 900EX has the capacity to accommodate up to 14 passengers but is usually configured to cater for 12 in a double Club 4 arrangement, 3-seater sofa and an individual seat.

History
The Falcon 900EX represented a significant advancement in Dassault trijet family when it entered service in 1996. The aircraft featured more powerful TFE731-60 engines producing 5,000 pounds of thrust each, substantially increasing performance over earlier variants.
The 900EX incorporated sufficient fuel storage for a range of 4,501 nautical miles, enabling truly intercontinental missions without fuel stops. This capability opened new route possibilities for business aviation operators previously constrained by range limitations.
Production continued until 2010 when Dassault transitioned to the 900DX and 900EX EASy variants. The aircraft established new performance benchmarks in the large-cabin trijet category, combining speed, range, and payload flexibility.
The 900EX served as the foundation for subsequent variants including the EASy avionics upgrade and eventual winglet-equipped models. The aircraft demonstrated Dassault's ability to evolve proven designs while maintaining the operational advantages of the three-engine configuration.
FAQ
Does the Falcon 900EX EASy have greater range than the Legacy 600?
Yes, the Falcon 900EX EASy significantly outperforms the Legacy 600 in range capability. The 900EX EASy offers 8,338 km (4,502 nautical miles) compared to the Legacy 600's 6,019 km (3,250 nautical miles), providing approximately 2,319 km (1,252 nautical miles) additional range. This difference allows the 900EX EASy to complete routes such as London to Tokyo non-stop, whilst the Legacy 600 would require a fuel stop.
How many passengers can the Falcon 900EX EASy accommodate?
The Falcon 900EX EASy typically seats 12-14 passengers in its standard configuration, with a maximum capacity of 19 passengers. The cabin features a double Club 4 formation with a 3-seater sofa and individual seat arrangement. The aircraft provides 10 carry-on storage spaces and 12 suitcase capacity for passenger luggage requirements.
What is the EASy cockpit system in the Falcon 900EX EASy?
The EASy (Enhanced Avionics System) cockpit represents Dassault's advanced digital flight deck technology, first integrated into the Falcon 900 platform in 2003. This system reduces pilot workload through intelligent automation and intuitive displays whilst maintaining the proven trijet reliability of the 900EX platform. The EASy system marked a significant advancement in business aviation cockpit technology when introduced.
What is the maximum range of the Falcon 900EX EASy?
The Falcon 900EX EASy offers a range of 8,338 km (4,502 nautical miles), enabling non-stop flights between major city pairs such as Paris to Tokyo or New York to Rome. This range capability makes the aircraft particularly suitable for transcontinental business missions without fuel stops.
What is the cruising speed of the Falcon 900EX EASy?
The Falcon 900EX EASy cruises at 893 km/h (482 knots), positioning it competitively within the large jet category. This speed enables efficient completion of intercontinental routes, with the aircraft capable of flying from London to Dubai in approximately 7.5 hours or from New York to London in around 8 hours of flight time.
