Gulfstream G200
Gulfstream acquired the G200 product line in 2001 and, since, has made considerable modifications and improvements, both internally and externally. The result was an extremely popular aircraft, the first of what is known as the 'new generation' of Super Midsize Business Jets. It also had a dispatch reliability of 99.75% from 2001-2011, during which time over 150 were delivered.
The luxurious interior of the G200 matches the size of the Challenger 300, dwarfing the Falcon 50 and Citation X, and, unlike the Challenger 300, doesn't sacrifice speed for cabin space. Not only is the G200 fast, but it also offers a better range than its rivals, able to complete journeys as long as Geneva to Dubai. The spacious cabin features typical seating for up to 9 passengers and offers WIFI internet as well as an aft galley. All things considered, the G200 does not compromise, combining performance and comfort to provide an excellent service for any medium-haul flight.

History
The Gulfstream G200 joined the fleet in 2001, manufactured by Israel Aircraft Industries under Gulfstream's brand. The aircraft was designed to provide mid-size performance with Gulfstream quality and support standards.
Since joining the Gulfstream family, the G200 benefited from several improvements including a redesigned interior, sound-proofing package, and aggressive weight-reduction program. These enhancements improved both comfort and performance characteristics.
The aircraft offered operators access to shorter runways while maintaining transcontinental range capabilities. The G200 filled an important gap in Gulfstream's product lineup between smaller and larger cabin categories.
Production concluded on December 19, 2011, after 250 units had been built. The final G200 marked the end of a successful programme that demonstrated Gulfstream's ability to successfully integrate international manufacturing partnerships while maintaining brand standards.
FAQ
Does the G200 have more range than the Citation X?
No, the Citation X outperforms the G200 in about 100 km range. While the Citation X range is 5,765 km, the G200 ranges 6,134 km (3,312 nautical miles). Both the Citation X and the G200 can complete routes like Geneva to Dubai nonstop.
How many passengers can the G200 accommodate?
The G200 typically seats 8-10 passengers in its standard configuration, though it can accommodate up to 11 passengers in a high-density layout. The aircraft features a spacious cabin measuring 7.44 metres in length, 2.18 metres in width, and 1.91 metres in height, providing generous space that matches larger aircraft like the Challenger 300 whilst maintaining superior performance characteristics.
What is the cruising speed of the G200?
The Gulfstream G200 cruises at 870 km/h (470 knots), positioning it competitively within the super midsize jet category. This speed enables efficient business travel across European and transcontinental routes, making the G200 well-suited for time-sensitive missions where performance matters.
What is the maximum range of the G200, and which city pairs can it connect?
The G200 offers an NBAA IFR range of 6,134 km (3,312 nautical miles), enabling nonstop flights on demanding routes such as London to Dubai or New York to Rome. This range capability positions the G200 ahead of many competitors in its class, allowing operators to complete intercontinental journeys without fuel stops.
What makes the G200's cabin distinctive compared to other super midsize jets?
The G200's cabin offers an exceptional combination of size and performance that sets it apart in its category. Unlike the Challenger 300, which sacrifices speed for cabin space, the G200 maintains its 870 km/h cruising speed whilst providing a cabin that matches the Challenger 300's dimensions. The interior dwarfs smaller jets like the Falcon 50EX and Citation X, yet delivers superior range performance, making it ideal for operators who require both spaciousness and capability without compromise.
