History
The Bombardier Global 8000 is the latest flagship aircraft in Bombardier’s Global family, developed from the Global 7500 platform. The Global 7500 entered service in 2018 and established Bombardier’s four-zone cabin concept in the ultra-long-range business jet market.
Bombardier unveiled the Global 8000 in 2022 as a faster and longer-range evolution of this platform, designed to combine intercontinental performance with the comfort of a large-cabin private jet. The aircraft introduced an increased maximum speed, an 8,000 nautical mile range and a cabin concept focused on long-haul comfort, wellness and productivity.
The Global 8000 received Transport Canada certification in November 2025 and entered service in December 2025, with further international certifications following. It now represents Bombardier’s most advanced ultra-long-range aircraft, positioned for passengers seeking maximum range, high-speed cruise capability and a true long-haul cabin experience.

Advantages & Disadvantages
Advantages of a Bombardier Global 8000 as a rental aircraft:
- Ultra-long range: With its 8,000 nm range, the Global 8000 is designed for long-haul and intercontinental private jet charter flights, reducing the need for fuel stops on many global routes.
- Exceptional speed: The Global 8000 offers one of the highest speed profiles in business aviation, with a top speed of Mach 0.95 and ultra-high-speed cruise capability for time-sensitive itineraries.
- Four-zone cabin: Its cabin is arranged around four true living spaces, making it suitable for passengers who need separate areas for working, dining, relaxing and sleeping during long flights.
- Passenger wellbeing: The aircraft is designed for long-haul comfort, with a very low cabin altitude, Bombardier Pũr Air filtration, Nuage seats and Soleil circadian lighting to help reduce fatigue and jet lag.
- Smooth long-haul performance: Bombardier’s Smooth Flĕx Wing is designed to improve ride comfort and performance, supporting a smoother experience on long-range flights.
Disadvantages of a Bombardier Global 8000 as a rental aircraft:
- Limited charter availability: As a very new aircraft, the Global 8000 is likely to be less widely available for charter than established ultra-long-range jets such as the Global 7500, Global 6000 or Gulfstream G650ER.
- Higher charter cost: The Global 8000 sits at the top end of private aviation, so it will generally be more expensive to charter than smaller long-range or super-midsize aircraft.
- Not always necessary for shorter flights: For regional or medium-range routes, a smaller aircraft may offer a more cost-effective solution while still providing sufficient range and comfort.
- Airport suitability still matters: Despite its strong runway performance for its size, the Global 8000 remains a large ultra-long-range jet and may not be the best option for airports with restrictive infrastructure, parking or handling conditions.
- Published performance depends on conditions: Range and speed figures depend on routing, weather, passenger load, luggage, operating rules and other factors, so each itinerary needs to be assessed individually.
FAQ
Which airports can be served by a Global 8000?
The Global 8000 is designed to combine ultra-long-range capability with strong airport performance for an aircraft of its size. Its Smooth Flĕx Wing and short-field performance help it access a wide range of major international and business aviation airports, including routes where runway performance, payload and range all matter. However, airport suitability still depends on runway length, aircraft weight, weather, parking, handling facilities, local restrictions and operator approvals.
Highly restrictive airports such as London City require specific steep-approach aircraft and operator approval. Although the closely related Global 7500 is already approved there with selected operators, the Global 8000 is not currently listed among the approved aircraft/operator combinations for London City; future approval may be possible if the aircraft and operator complete the required process.
How does the Global 8000 compare with the Gulfstream G800 and Dassault Falcon 10X?
The Global 8000, Gulfstream G800 and Dassault Falcon 10X sit at the top end of the ultra-long-range private aviation market, but each aircraft has a different emphasis. The Gulfstream G800 offers the longest published NBAA IFR range, at 15,186 km (8,200 nm), while the Global 8000 offers 14,816 km (8,000 nm) and a higher published top speed of Mach 0.95. The Falcon 10X is designed around cabin space, with Dassault announcing the largest cabin cross-section in business aviation and a planned range of 7,500 nm. However, unlike the Global 8000 and Gulfstream G800, the Falcon 10X is not yet available for charter, as it is still in flight testing.
Is the Global 8000 widely available for charter?
The Global 8000 is a very new aircraft, so charter availability is expected to be more limited than for established ultra-long-range jets such as the Global 7500, Global 6000 or Gulfstream G650ER. Availability will vary by region, season and operator, so LunaJets may propose a Global 8000 when available, or comparable ultra-long-range alternatives when better suited to the itinerary.
What makes the Global 8000 different from the Global 7500?
The Global 8000 builds on the Global 7500 platform and retains the same four-zone long-haul cabin philosophy. The main differences are performance-related: the Global 8000 offers a higher published top speed of Mach 0.95 and an NBAA IFR range of 14,816 km (8,000 nm). It also slightly improves Bombardier’s already very low Global-family cabin altitude, with the cabin pressurised to an equivalent altitude of just 2,691 ft (820 m) when cruising at 41,000 ft.
Does the Global 8000 have a shower?
The Global 8000 includes a furnished lavatory with a window, vanity, sink and faucet. Depending on the configuration, it can also feature an en suite bathroom linked to the Principal Suite, with an available stand-up shower.
For charter flights, the exact bathroom layout depends on the individual aircraft, so LunaJets will confirm whether the available Global 8000 includes a shower before booking.
What cabin features support comfort on long flights?
The Global 8000 is designed for long-haul comfort with four separate living spaces, allowing passengers to work, dine, relax and sleep during extended flights.
Its cabin is pressurised to an equivalent altitude of just 2,691 ft (820 m) when cruising at 41,000 ft, helping create a more comfortable environment on intercontinental routes.
Passenger wellbeing is also supported by Bombardier Pũr Air filtration, Nuage seats with a zero-gravity position and Soleil circadian lighting, which uses dynamic daylight simulation to help reduce the effects of long-haul travel.
The aircraft also offers high-speed connectivity options and advanced entertainment features, including an available 55-inch 4K display and Bombardier’s l’Opéra audio system.
