Estimated flight times: Flight times are calculated estimates based on route distance, aircraft performance and recorded durations for the same aircraft model or comparable flights. Times are rounded to the nearest 5 minutes and may vary with routing and operating conditions. Flight-time calibration uses records from 2020 through October 2026.
Flight activity: sources and methodology
Activity methodology: LunaJets filters and enriches the recorded flights by matching them to airports, cities and aircraft categories, then aggregating them. Figures cover 1 January to 31 December 2025. The figures include private and business jets, VIP aircraft and turboprops. Helicopters and scheduled airline flights are excluded. The data was generated on 14 October 2026. This generation date is separate from the activity year.
Definitions: A private aviation movement is one recorded departure or arrival at an airport serving a city. A flight between Tenerife and another city counts once in Tenerife’s route total, whether arriving or departing. A return flight counts as a separate movement. A connected city is a distinct city with at least one qualifying private aviation flight to or from Tenerife during 2025. The connected-city count covers the routes included in this dataset, not just those displayed in the table.
Busiest periods: Busiest periods identify a significant seasonal concentration in recorded movements in both directions during 2025. Isolated spikes are filtered out. Year-round means no qualifying seasonal concentration was identified, although activity can vary between months. A classification requires at least 30 annual movements, 99% statistical significance and an average monthly activity rate at least 1.75 times the rest of the year. Single-month periods also require recurrence checks using January to August 2026 records.

No. Tenerife South (Reina Sofía) operates 24/7 for flight movements. Private jets can arrive or depart at any time. The terminal’s public areas may close between 23:00 and 04:00 when no flights are scheduled, but flight operations continue. LunaJets will arrange your slot and access according to your flight time.
Can I bring my pet on a private jet to Tenerife?
Yes, you can bring pets on a private jet to Tenerife. Dogs, cats and ferrets are permitted entry provided they meet EU rules: your animal must be microchipped, vaccinated against rabies, and travel with either an EU Pet Passport or an official veterinary health certificate. If you are arriving from outside the EU, your pet must be declared on arrival and may be checked by border authorities at the private terminal. Certain high-risk or restricted breeds are not accepted. Are there alternate airports on Tenerife, and when might they be useful?
Yes. Tenerife has two main airports: Tenerife South (TFS) and Tenerife North (TFN). TFS is generally preferred for southern resorts and international flights; TFN is closer to Santa Cruz and northern destinations. If your destination is in the north, or you want faster ground transfers, TFN may be more convenient. LunaJets will suggest the best airport based on your final destination and arrival time.
What visa or entry requirements apply when flying private into Tenerife?
Entry rules for Tenerife are the same as for any international arrival into Spain and the wider Schengen area. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may enter freely without a visa. Travellers from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan or Singapore can usually visit visa-free for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Nationals of countries outside these groups must obtain a Schengen visa in advance. From 2026, visitors who currently enjoy visa-free entry will also need an ETIAS travel authorisation before travelling.
