Aircraft selection: Each route displays up to five of its most frequently used aircraft models, according to the available flight records. Flights across the cities’ main airports are combined when selecting them.
Estimated flight times: Flight times are calculated estimates based on route distance, aircraft performance and recorded durations for the same aircraft model or comparable flights. Times are rounded to the nearest 5 minutes and may vary with routing and operating conditions. Flight-time calibration uses records from 2020 through October 2026.
Flight activity: sources and methodology
Activity methodology: LunaJets filters and enriches the recorded flights by matching them to airports, cities and aircraft categories, then aggregating them. Figures cover 1 January to 31 December 2025. The figures include private and business jets, VIP aircraft and turboprops. Helicopters and scheduled airline flights are excluded. The data was generated on 14 October 2026. This generation date is separate from the activity year.
Definitions: A private aviation movement is one recorded departure or arrival at an airport serving a city. A flight between Stockholm and another city counts once in Stockholm’s route total, whether arriving or departing. A return flight counts as a separate movement. A connected city is a distinct city with at least one qualifying private aviation flight to or from Stockholm during 2025. The connected-city count covers the routes included in this dataset, not just those displayed in the table.
Busiest periods: Busiest periods identify a significant seasonal concentration in recorded movements in both directions during 2025. Isolated spikes are filtered out. Year-round means no qualifying seasonal concentration was identified, although activity can vary between months. A classification requires at least 30 annual movements, 99% statistical significance and an average monthly activity rate at least 1.75 times the rest of the year. Single-month periods also require recurrence checks using January to August 2026 records.
Which airport is best for private jets?
Stockholm has three airports open to private flights: Bromma, close to the centre; Arlanda, the country's main international gateway; and Skavsta, further south. Bromma now handles most of Stockholm's private jet movements, but its short runway and fixed hours rule out some aircraft and schedules. Arlanda takes over when Bromma cannot, with no curfew but a longer transfer into town. Skavsta suits itineraries already routed through the south, or an aircraft that needs hangar space.

Stockholm Bromma's business aviation is handled by Grafair Jet Center and IFLY FBO. Arlanda offers Grafair and ASE Handling for private flights. Skavsta provides FBO and heated hangar space through Preflight AB.
Slot constraints & peak demand
Stockholm Bromma's short runway, noise rules and fixed hours rule out some aircraft and any off-hours departure. Arlanda has no such curfew and offers more flexibility, though it is IATA Level 3 slot-coordinated, so a peak-time slot needs requesting in advance.
Transfers & airport choice
Stockholm Bromma is closest to the centre, 11 km out and a 25 to 30 minute transfer; Arlanda runs 40 to 50 minutes into town, Skavsta closer to 80. Central districts such as Norrmalm and Östermalm favour Bromma; Arlanda suits northern Stockholm, larger aircraft or an airline connection.
Bromma's central position and Arlanda's open hours cover most Stockholm charters between them, and the choice usually comes down to your aircraft and when you land. Landing after 22:00 on a weekday, or on a Saturday afternoon, decides it outright: Arlanda becomes the only option, regardless of preference.

Stockholm's most distinctive private experience is its own archipelago, more than 30,000 islands. Fjäderholmarna is reachable by boat in about 30 minutes, and the fortified town of Vaxholm not much further. Stockholm's Nobis Hotel, on Norrmalmstorg in two connected 19th-century stone buildings restyled by Claesson Koivisto Rune, anchors the centre's hotel scene, its Gold Bar mirrored floor to ceiling. The Grand Hôtel, across the water from Gamla Stan and the Royal Palace, has held that view since 1874. For something more private, Ett Hem in Östermalm runs as a small residential house rather than a hotel, with no public restaurant or bar.
Where to dine
Frantzén, Stockholm's only three-Michelin-star restaurant, seats just 23 guests across three floors of a 19th-century townhouse in the city centre and needs booking months ahead. Mathias Dahlgren keeps his one-star Matbaren inside the Grand Hôtel for a shorter wait and a menu built around Swedish produce. AIRA, on the waterfront at Djurgården, holds two stars for a Nordic tasting menu, with a private dining room and chef's table available.
