The Rio Carnival, Rio de Janeiro

For more than 100 years, the streets of Brazil have been vibrating with the Carnival and the world is turning to Rio de Janeiro. The ritual is unalterable; the Mayor gives the key of the city to the King Momo, who reigns above Rio during the carnival, looking for his Queen, a young lady seducing him with her dancing. The parades then start with over 4 million people coming from all over the world to admire the best Samba schools going through the streets, unveiling remarkable choreographies and costumes. At the end of those four days of celebration across the streets and the Sambadrom, a jury attributes a prize to the best school for the quality of its parade, its respect of the theme and the overall harmony of the show.
