Previously named Speke Airport, Liverpool's airport was renamed Liverpool John Lennon Airport in 2001 to pay tribute to the artist from the Beatles. The airport is open 24 hours a day and has three Fixed Based Operators. It has an Aspire Premium Lounge that is open 7 days a week from 4:00am to 8:00pm. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is located 15km southeast of the city-centre of Liverpool, which represents a drive of about 30 minutes.
