Hamad International Airport
Formerly known as New Doha International Airport (NDIA) and located 15km southeast of Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar, Hamad International Airport (OTHH, DOH) replaced the former Doha International Airport as the city’s principal airport. It is used for commercial aviation and diplomatic private flights.
Opened 24/7 and equipped with customs, this international airport does not require slots for landing and takeoffs and has no mandatory handling. Its 2 runways of 4.9 and 4.3 kilometers enable all types of aircraft to land and takeoff.
The airport displays a 7-meters giant bronze statue of a teddy bear with a lamp over its head created by Urs Fischer, a Swiss artist. A new sculpture was added to the terminal in 2018 called Small Lie and created by the American artist Kaws (Brian Donnelly).
