From 29th June-12th July, the world’s oldest tennis tournament will return to the All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon, southwest London for the 3rd of 4 Grand Slams on the ATP World Tour. Wimbledon is played on grass, the sport’s original surface, and is widely regarded as the most prestigious tournament in tennis, making it the trophy that players aspire to win more than any other.
As always, the greatest players in tennis will compete in this year’s tournament, which is certain to be as close as ever. Defending champion and world number 1 Novak Djokovic will definitely be favourite for the Men’s championship, although he will face stiff competition from Andy Murray, buoyed by home support, and 7-time winner Roger Federer, arguably the greatest player to ever grace a court. In the women’s competition, Serena William’s goes in as the top seed and is in excellent form to claim her 6th Wimbledon title. Petra Kvitova will believe she can replicate her victory from 2014 and world number 2 Maria Sharapova, who won her first Grand Slam at Wimbledon when she was just 17, can certainly challenge for the trophy.
As well as the fantastic tennis, spectators will be able to enjoy the incredible and unique atmosphere of Wimbledon, which is also an extremely social event, and visit the wonderful city of London during the summer. Due to the tournament’s popularity, we strongly recommend that you make all your travel arrangements well in advance.
