Exquisite jewellery, rare Impressionist and Modernist paintings, British art and design, fine sculptures, singular furniture and exceptional objects from antiquity await the lucky visitors of Masterpiece London 2018.
Within Masterpiece London, more precisely at the Fair’s entrance, MASTERPIECE PRESENTS will display the innovative new pieces conceived by artist Marina Abramović: ‘Five Stages of Maya Dance’.
A further highlight of this year’s edition is the presentation called ‘A Brief History of Time: From Matins to Mars’, staged by Les Enluminures and Daniel Crouch. It showcases diverse artistic creations from sky maps to Renaissance jewellery as an invitation to observe the understanding of time across the ages.
Visitors will find superb Impressionist and Modern paintings by Monet and Picasso, brought by Gladwell & Patterson and Landau Fine Art respectively, along with special pieces by Joan Miró and Marc Chagall brought by Hammer Galleries. Leading sculpture specialists like Lullo • Pampoulides, Pangolin London, Univers du Bronze, and Galerie Sismann will showcase fine pieces from all periods and Alexander Calder’s Red Bull will attract numerous sculpture enthusiasts.
Collectors who fancy British art and design by British artists and artists who have lived in the UK, will be delighted by Richard Green’s presentation: ‘Best of British from our Shores and Beyond’. British furniture by 18th century cabinetmaker Thomas Chippendale can be found too, and exhibitor Didier Ltd. will offer the opportunity to purchase fine jewellery from British designers.
Connoisseurs can also enjoy the beauty of notable antique and contemporary jewellery by Cartier, Boucheron, Fabergé, Van Cleef & Arpels, Verdura/Herz-Belperron and Grima, as well as an impressive collection of contemporary jewellery by Fabio Salini, revealed for the first time at the Fair.
In addition to the splendid works of art, the Fair offers inspiring talks and workshops, as part of a ‘Talks & Education Programme’, in association with Chopard.
