Charter an Eclipse Aerospace Jet
Eclipse Aerospace was founded in 2009 after acquiring the assets of Eclipse Aviation, the company that created the pioneering Eclipse 500, one of the first very light jets (VLJs) certified for commercial use. By taking over the type certificate, Eclipse Aerospace ensured continued maintenance and support for the fleet. The company later introduced the improved Eclipse 550, produced between 2013 and 2017, which offered updated avionics and systems while retaining the aircraft’s hallmark efficiency. Today, Eclipse Aerospace remains active under AML Global Eclipse, maintaining and supporting the global fleet.
When it entered service in the mid-2000s, the Eclipse 500 reshaped expectations for light private aviation. Designed to make jet travel more accessible, it offered seating for up to four passengers in a compact cabin, jet performance at lower operating costs, and the ability to use shorter runways. For charter clients, it enabled efficient short-haul flights that were previously the domain of turboprops.
Development of the Eclipse 550

Building on this platform, Eclipse Aerospace launched the Eclipse 550. While visually similar to the 500, it introduced advanced avionics, improved safety features, and optional auto-throttles. The aircraft retained the same strengths — fuel efficiency, quiet operation, and access to smaller airports — while enhancing reliability and passenger experience. With these upgrades, the Eclipse 550 remains the most relevant model for private jet charter today.
