Tonnage restriction lifted at the Cannes Mandelieu Airport

As the first European airport to achieve the IS-BAH (International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling) for the safety and efficiency of the FBO SKY VALET, the Cannes Mandelieu Airport lifted the tonnage restriction. Starting October 1, 2015, the restriction that prohibited long-range jets to land at the Cannes Mandelieu Airport does no longer apply, opening up the Côte d’Azur for more tourists from farther away. Not only will passengers benefit from the lifting of the constraint, but also the Côte d’Azur tourism will bloom even more. As the airport is now allowing 22-35 ton aircraft to land, which will without doubt increase the number of tourists, new jobs are created at the airport and the area itself.

However it is noteworthy that noise restrictions are still in place at the airport, which do not allow noisier aircraft like for example Dassault Falcon 50 or Hawker Beechcraft 400XP to land.

More recent and quieter models like the Gulfstream G450, Embraer Legacy 650 or Dassault Falcon 7X (or the Dassault Falcon 5X when certified) will be able to land in Cannes.

As a reminder, the Cannes Airport is a 45 minutes drive from Nice and half an hour from Grasse (French capital of perfumes). Cannes is also an alternate airport to the La Môle Saint-Tropez airport (IATA: LTT, ICAO: LFTZ). These news will ease your travel experience in the Cannes region of French Riviera even more and the LunaJets team is available 24/7 to organize your private flight into the area.
